Happy New Year

Phew! The holidays are over. December is our busiest month. We do SO many awesome events. This year, we had the pleasure of working the employee keiki parties for many of the big hotels on the island, like the Grand Wailea, the Westin, the Grand Wailea and the Four Seasons. It’s awesome to see what these companies do for their employees’ children. These are EPIC parties! We also did many Game Show Nites and Game Show Lites (check out www.gameshowfanatics.com) for a bunch of other local businesses, like Hula Grill, Mulligan’s and Alpha Inc. We did all this and so much more, on top of all the regular birthday parties we work during December.

Doing all these Holiday Events is such a great time, and we are very blessed to be so busy, but it can be a LOT. This year, I told myself I was not going to let it stress me out, and that I was going to enjoy it. I have to say, I was mostly successful. Part of this success was because I was a little more gentle on myself this holiday season. No Jolie, you do not need to make hand-made gifts for everyone you know, you do NOT need to bake cookies for ALL of your neighbors, and NO Jolie, you do NOT need to send Christmas cards to all 200 of your relatives. . In the past, I have tried to do ALL the fun festive things on top of all the work we do through the holidays. This year, I gave myself a break, and it made things SO much easier.

In the aftermath of the holidays, I have paperwork and emails piled up around me, my house desperately needs to be dusted and my closet looks like a bomb went off in a costume store. I am trying to remember to be gentle on myself about all this as well, and give myself time to recuperate. It will all get done eventually. I am so grateful to be doing something I love so much, with people I love, and in such a magical place. I am excited for the year ahead and what it will bring. Happy New Year and may your 2020 be full of inspiration, abundance, love, balance, and FUN!
